Alan, Gloria stayed with you for 4 months while you transitioned from Suzanne. Now, perhaps she decided to go to Suzanne and help her write her new book about Heaven beautiful heaven. God bless.

This is for Alan on the loss of beautiful Gloria (she had a queenly meow). You’ve helped ME tonight. And this is why. I’ve felt so much guilt over the loss of my beagle Lucy who died a year ago on February 16. Lucy was 13 1/2 yo and had cancer! But I didn’t know. I didn’t have a clue. She had stopped eating, incontinent and lost weight rapidly. Little did I know when I took her to the vet, I’d leave without her. I had her since she was 13 weeks old. I had to let her go and it hurt like hell. They took exrays. I saw 2 cancerous tumors and he said she was tired. She was ready to go.

I miss her everyday. We loved our walks together. Ate with me. Bossed me around. Kept me in line. Gave me purpose. She loved daily car rides. We went everywhere together.

I’ve gone through terrible guilt. I felt like I killed her. I made the decision but tonight you helped me realize you do what you need to do and you don’t want them to suffer. If I had known, would treatment for cancer be wise? I never left Lucy alone. She never appeared sick. She walked briskly. She was happy. Her tail was wagging. She was tired. She laid in my arms and I sang her a song and the dr came in. Gave her a shot but she didn’t want to go. She departed and I left alone. Only about an hour. But I’ve felt guilt everyday.

I have a gray tabby girl at home, SuziQ. She was Lucy’s sister (from a different mother) and they were best buds. Eventually a ginger cat came to us and his name is Benny. Now SuziQ doesn’t sulk as much (haha, she hides from crazy Benny who really has jazzed things up.)

You sharing your very kind, compassionate story about Gloria’s passing, I realize, we how we allow our 4-legged babies to live and die is important.

I’ll be 70 on March 23. I’ve had many many pets (mostly cats) but dogs too. I hate their suffering. We do what’s best. We do the best we can.

I am a 1 1/2 year breast cancer survivor. The beautiful part of Lucy’s story is she helped me through my cancer. Then it was time for me to help her through hers.

I truly believe all the pets in heaven are reunited with their owners. God takes delight in all of his creatures both 2 and 4 legged. Why wouldn’t He want us all together in Heaven with Him. I know one thing,
Eternity will be a GAS!! Remember that!

I love loved her! Her innocence and caring for others was obvious . She loved her family so much. I’ve followed her through the years, and read all her books. I was born the same year as her and lived in San Bruno as well.
She was a beautiful soul. RIP Susanne
